AHAUN

The fairies glance beside gushing water
Down the hillside towards the Feale
The Clurachauns sing as undines dance
Making the setting so surreal

In north Kerry by this mountainside
A deosil dance round sacred well
The minstrels the poets the weavers
Casting their enchanting spell

To the pagan chieftain with serpent sword
Remember his heritage past
In the bulrushes by the little ford
To the Shannon flowing fast

In mythological mysticism
A long way we go back
Over these black bleak mountains
Upon seldom travelled track

Of good people or of Fianna
The lover of the hound
Evoking natures elements
To reach from surf to sound

Our fire is low as dawn awakes
A solstice sun does shine
Upon lucky spirits standing here
Through the centuries of time
